Your First Freedom, Religious Liberty

Freedom of religion is the first promise to Americans in the Bill of Rights. Being first puts it in a position of prominence. It should always be a first consideration in any reasonable and balanced legislation, and court.

In a national survey testing U.S. citizens’ knowledge of their First Amendment freedoms, the  First Ammendment Center concluded very few Americans could name even one. (WOW recognizes  a comprehensive liberty curriculum in public edcucation as a beginning solution, referenced in “Faith Through the Sieve of Education,”  to this famine of knowlege. )  When the citizenry does not even know their “first right” and its special position of prominence, confusion over rights is one result.
