WOW started out as an orgainzation for one group of women in one state in the United States designed to give them a voice in the battle for the identity of women. They didn’t want to be ‘put in a box’ with all the women who were hoping to be looked at as men. WOW wanted women to be seen, valued, and treated as women as they had always been by principled societies.
In 1998 WOW became a global organization dedicated to helping women all over the world defend and protect the family as the fundamental unit of society. WOW is also actively helping women around the world be free from abuse and to learn how to live happy healthy lives.
WOW has a partnership with women in Africa that call themselves WOW Africa. They are heavily involved in decreasing illiteracy and improving education so that women can better provide for themselves and their families.
In a nutshell, WOW understands that women of the world have different needs and circumstances and goes to great lengths to understand those unique situations and women in order to help them and their families have the freedoms they need to worship and live in the way that is is pleasing unto their God and their consciences.
We do not push our beliefs upon people of other cultures or try to re-define their families or religious beliefs. We support their heritage and culture and hope to promote the same supportive and loving, non-oppressive cultural exchange that free people have always enjoyed. We do not promote abortion, or measures designed to confuse the identity of men and women. We do not promote a world government, but maintain that nations of the earth have the right to govern themselves as they see fit and in accordance with their beliefs and principles.
WOW maintains that “children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony and to be reared by a father and a mother who honor marital vows with complete fidelity.” [The Family]
